Biographical Summary of Rod Michel and Tony Hardie Relevant to Indian Artifact Collecting
| Rod Michel: I was born in British Columbia, Canada. My credentials include 30 years of Indian artifact collecting, the last 15 of which are on a very serious basis. I have experience in mineral and stone identification in hand and outcrop as both a mining and petroleum geologist. I am skilled in using a microscope, black light and loupe to detect rechips and fakes, especially Great Basin, Columbia River, and Northwest relics. Paleo and archaic points and knives from the West are my specialty, while I am developing and honing my skills on Northwest ground stone and perishables. Over the years I have personally handled several hundred thousand artifacts. I include a statement of provenience with all artifacts that I decide to sell, and totally stand behind everything with a written guarantee of ancient authenticity. |

Tony Hardie: I have been collecting Arrowheads, Artifacts, Old Bottles and various other Collectables from BC and the Northwest for the last 30 years and have amassed thru inheritance and acquisition a Collection that can be viewed on my Website at Westcoast Arrowheads & BC Artifacts. I have a good variety of Stone Artifacts, Projectile Points and Knives as well as Baskets, Carvings and Perishables from the Coastal Fraser River Basin and Fraser Canyon areas of BC. I also have a large inventory of Alaskan, Columbia River, Great Basin and California Artifacts. My Bottle Collection consists manly of British Columbia Drugstores, Pops, Beers and various old booze and black glass bottles dug in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. I also have quite an extensive collection of early pioneer Chinese Pottery and items from the Gold Rush and 1800s. I also have started a very nice collection of Fur trade era Relics including a set of three Indian Trade Muskets from the major Fur trade Suppliers including the Northwest Company, Hudson Bay Company and the American Fur Trade Company. I have also dabbled in collecting Coins and Paper Currencies, Stamps, Postcards, Collector Cards and many other collectables from the Northwest. I presently seek out and purchase legally obtained Old timer Collections from the 1950's and early 1960's of Indian artifacts and Trade Items. I Document all Collections I purchase recording digital images of every item and presenting the owners with a complementary bound and printed copy in recognition of the countless hours that many of them spent collecting these with loved ones as I used to do myself on camping trips and such. I then proceed to sell the items on my website at www.bcartifacts.com to recoup my capital so I may purchase the next one that comes available. I also preserve some of the finest specimens and unusual items of significance in my personal Collection. I make these available for study for a deposit. I have helped many Schools and institutions with obtaining fine well documented authentic artifacts from the past. I base all my transactions on honesty and fairness so that all parties involved come away pleased and feeling satisfied. Some of the Great collections I have been able to document and preserve can be viewed by clicking on the names in the graphic artifact image /banner below. I hope you enjoy my website and feel free to email me your questions and I will do my best to get back to you in a timely manner. |
