Rod Michel's Sales Policy Effective September 15, 2004, Updated with Provisions on December 10th, 2005

I warranty the ancient authenticity on all artifacts that I sell unless stated otherwise. As a buyer you are accorded a 30 day conditional return period* provided that the relic is returned in the same condition as when I sent it; If you modify the relic by scrubbing mineralization off with a brush, remove hinges, or damage the relic in any way however minute, you bought it! A simple washing with soap and water is adequate in my experience, if you require further proof of ancient authenticity, then send it to someone like Bill Jackson, Ben Stermer, Tony Hardie or Steve Wallman, this warranty does not guarantee that my interpretation of the typology will be the same as the authenticators since we each have our own level of research, skills, and interpretations in different areas of archaeology. All other authenticators I prefer not to use their services since the material that I deal in is primarily Northwestern, Columbia River, and Great Basin. If they kill the piece I will refund your money in full, otherwise all other refunds will be less postage, confirmation, and insurance fees for shipping that I have incurred. "Verbal" authentication is NOT acceptable, a written opinion from one of these gentleman is acceptable to me.*After 15 days of receipt of the artifact, you can return the artifact for any reason, on the 16-30th days you are accorded the privilege of returning the artifact for a full credit with BC & American Indian Artifacts. After the 30th day, we reserve the right to refuse you a refund or web site credit on an ancient authentic relic, except in this case: Say you send in one of our relics to a credible authenticator years down the road and it comes back bad (extremely unlikely), you will be accorded the privilege to chose either a full money back refund or web site credit. Layaways require a 10% deposit with the down payment to be received within 10 days of agreement to buy the piece.** I am flexible in my terms to hold an item, but feel that 45 days is a reasonable period to close the transaction, there are exceptions where I will extend this, contingent upon the buyer making payments on an agreed schedule. If such payments are not made, I will keep the deposit and refund the balance via personal check. No relics will be sent for 'pre approval' before a payment in full or comparable security is received, nothing personal, just sound business. Sales are 1st come, 1st serve, this means that if you agree to buy an item and after a 10 day grace period have not sent a payment, the next person has dibs on the relic.*** Types of acceptable payment include personal checks (preferred), money orders, or PayPal. Included with the relic that you will receive will be a typewritten statement of provenience with a copy of my warranty. Most statements include a summary of the known provenience along with some basic lithic analysis of the material and opinion as to typology and culture that made or utilized the artifact. Further the statement has a color embedded photo of the artifact itself, both buyer and seller's name and address and is personally signed by me creating a written document. Preservation of the artifact is a responsibility that in my opinion is part of ownership, thus I keep archived copies of the statements of provenience on file in the event that your statement of provenience is damaged or you wish to reprint. ***It is the buyer's responsibility to regularly visit our website and either write or call us to reserve artifacts that they wish to purchase; we generally do try to 'take care' of our best clients and do post notices on the home page In regards to "Personal Collection", "Offer" and "Call" items this means that if you wish to own these pieces it is your responsibility to find a way to acquire it from me; It is my desire to see artifacts I like to see go to people whom have the 'proper appreciation and thinking' about them. With the Offer items, well it is obvious that it is up to you to figure out a price you are willing to pay and open negotiations with before writing me emails or phoning. The Call items, I will give you a price quote and will honor this price offer for 45 days, after which I reserve the right to adjust. |
